Rock is the best genre of music and your argument is invalid

I came across Corey Taylor’s acoustic version of Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. This made me realize what an amazing voice Corey Taylor poses. I love the original by Chris Isaak, but Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour signing that song reminded me why I started loving Rock. The ability to sing acoustic without computer generated voices, and in the instance of Corey Taylor from screaming out People = Shit to singing an absolute classic like Wicked Game equally as good as the original is why I love this Genre.

A weird lanky kid who was above average smart and couldn’t fit in to a clock existed in the 1990s. This 13 year old kid used to jam to Westlife and Nsync. By chance he came across Arms Wide Open by Creed and after that everything changed. I mean the kid remained weird but his taste in music took a wild turn. In can Puddle of Mudd with Blurry and Staind with Its been awhile. He began to amass a legendary collection of Rock CDs. Slipknot, Godsmack, Metallica, Mushroomheads, Mud Vayne, Nirvana, Shinedown and Breaking Benjamin were a few of the favs. If you didn’t know know by now, the kid I am referring to is me. I know!!! Plot twist!!! I tend to shock you guys, don’t I? Unable to fit in, being the second child, Rock music gave me a sort of shell that I could go into and survive through the harsh winters.

My parents were worried about me, because these uncle and aunts told them that rock promotes violence and will raise hell on earth and all. For me, it was not about any of that. I could relate to the music that I listed. I don’t think I was depressed, but the songs that talked about depression were my favorite. I still listen to the music that I used to grow up on. I call that playlist Sanity. It’s my go to music when I need an escape. I listen to most genres, but for me at least Rock rules them all.

Live life!

Don’t die wondering!
