Legendary Mac

Life sucks! Doesn't it? Lord Buddha once said that the only certainty in life is death. Even though this statement is true, we tend to cling on to things, the sort of things which cause us pain when we loose it. This is a story about that sort of pain.

I remember as if it was yesterday. (I'm not trying to be corny, but I actually remember it as if yesterday) I was 16 and a tutor came to teach me at home. As the tutor was leaving our home, my parents returned home with a

3 months later.........

Toy Poodle Puppy, white as snow. It was totally unexpected. I was at an age where I didn't mind a puppy at home even though I was not dying to have one as well. Just like Britney Spears, when She was JUST a girl and not YET a woman.

This Toy Poodle changed our lives for ever.

For the next thirteen years, he became a brother to me and a son to my parents. He knew how to count up to 5. That is because there are 5 members in our family. When ever we go somewhere and come back home, he counts the number of family members who returned and if someone in missing, he would inquire.

Loves to go in the vehicle and is literally the tail of my father. Once he went to office with him. It is no joke and I wasn't high as a kite as well. The protector of our parents room. Who thy shall enter the room when the parents are not inside the room shall receive thy Mac's teeth mark on thy buttock.

I married, I moved out. He grew old. The day after his 13th birthday, he was with my mother in their room. He was sick and wouldn't walk. But he mustered enough strength to ask my mother to go to the garden with him. As soon as he got to the garden, he left us.

I wasn't high on his affectionate ladder, but he knew that I loved him and he loved me back. The guy had a lot of love to give.

You were a great dog Mac. You were a great brother.

Much love

World cup final highlights

Yey!!!!! Germany won. :D Die mannschaft or something. Even though I have European features, handsome and tall, I’m not even remotely related to Germany. Surprised? I know, I have seen many people get surprised. ;) I supported Germany since there were 3 Arsenal players in the squad. I love Arsenal. My blood is red because of Arsenal. Seriously it is red, and Arsenal colors are red too. (I apologize for the lame joke since its 3.50 a.m. and I need to sleep)

Anyways, I went to watch the final to the CR&FC (with is a popular ground in Sri Lanka.) There I saw so many things additional to the match. Few on them are noted below.

1)     Messi lovers – Messi lovers were everywhere. When ever he touched the ball, they shouted as if they were having orgasms. (I maybe over exaggerating a little bit) Honestly, all the talk about he deserves to win the world cup is bullshit. No one deserves anything. They should earn it.

2)     The number of Arsenal fans – It was great to see fellow Arsenal fans wear the colors red and white supporting Germany. I was going to wear a German skinny to show off my awesome biceps, but I am glad that I wore my Arsenal jersey and went.

3)     The drunken assholes – The number of gentleman who were knocked out sleeping on their own vomit was astonishing. You come to watch a football match and you are licking the grass even before the kickoff. It is always good to know your limit. Limit is not the thin line between getting piss drunk and getting knocked out. It’s the level of booze you can take while you are in control of yourself.

4)     The tipsy ladies – You ladies are the latest customer segment for British tobacco and the distillery companies. Girls should know better. There are youtube videos and sites like girls gone wild which exploit the vulnerability of drunk ladies. Just don’t do things that you’ll regret the next morning, the next week or the next month.

Those were some of the thought that I wanted to share today with you. As always I’m blogging on a sleepless night. I know I’m a bit rusty since I haven’t blogged in awhile. I will get better at it. When I do, you better watch out. Buhahahahahhahaha

Smarter the phone, dumber the person

"Smarter the phone, dumber the person" That is the statement that a person said when I was boasting about my new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when I bought it. At that time I did not give that statement much thought, but now I realise that there is some truth to that statement. (I need some cookie points for this :D) I'M NOT SAYING THAT I'M GETTING DUMBER because all of you know that I am an awesome individual ;). But I have to agree that, there is some truth in this statement.

Most of the time we use your phones to navigate through social networks. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as examples. It's the case with many Asians. I travel regularly to Malaysia and Thailand and they are social network zombies just like Srilankans. BTW I travel to Thailand as a good boy okkkkkkkk.... (just to keep the record straight) most phones advertise themselves with features such as facebook integration and loads of other social networkings features. Have you ever asked yourselves why we have become such zombies and waste our productive time on social networking. Do not get me wrong, we need social networking to communicate with the outside world but we need to strike a balance. That is my opinion.

The biggest worry for me is how smart phones helps you to screw up your grammar. Trust me on this. Yesterday I sent a text message and when the recipient replied saying "what do you mean?" I checked what I typed. I was like what the "duck" did I type. (I try to be as responsible as possible for my under age readers) Auto correct  does not auto correct in my opinion. After yesterday I try my best to type every single sentence and refrain from using auto correct in a desperate attempt to save my writing skills.

If you still think that this post is a utter waste of time (which is not :P)and you think that you could has used the time that took you to read this to play barn buddy on facebook, I want you to do this test. Close your eyes for 2 minutes and try to enjoy all your other senses. It may sound a bit kinky but try out and FEEL the difference. It's the same with your phone. While you are checking out a stupid meme a hot chick with red lipstick might pass you by wearing a bikini. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW. Crazier things have happened.

Just find the balance between you smartphone and life. Your greatest experiences happen when you live your life in the real world, not on your smartphone. I'm trying my best to find that balance.

Random thoughts on a sleepless night

It's just one of those days where you can't sleep. Playing stick cricket of your phone hoping and praying that you would feel sleepy at some point. It ain't working people. Never the less, this sleepless night reminded me that I haven't blogged in a while.

If you people have read my previous posts you would know that these sort of sleepless nights are the catalyst for most of my blogs. Now you understand why I write a lot of bullshit. :D

When  you can't sleep, random thoughts come into your mind. Following are few of throw thoughts that I would like to share.

1) WHY THE HELL CAN'T I GO TO SLEEP? I tried everything.  I changed my sleeping position and I even changed my bloody pillow. Still I can't go to sleep.

2) When am I going to finish my thesis? This has been dragging for ever. I can't make up my mind to sit down and finish it.

3) Who are we going to buy in this transfer window. Arsenal haven't won a trophy for 8 years. It is high time we win something.  To win something we need to buy players. Dearest Arsene Wenger, I'm thinking about who can improve our squad at 1.18 in the morning. Please buy a good player and help me sleep.

NOW COMES THE WEIRD SHIT! ;)

4) Do aliens actually exist? I am a firm believer that they do. I don't want them to come and invade us, but they can always drop by and say 'hello machan' and go. I don't mind :D

5) The thing that I Google the most when I can't sleep is about the Loch Ness monster. I wish to believe that this mythical creature exists. I know!  Aliens and the Loch Ness monster.... Don't blame me.  Blame Discovery channel for putting all this mysterious bullshit inside my head.

So the you go. Those were some of the random stuff which goes inside the great mind of the Guy Wearing Shorts.

Sorry if there are any grammer or spelling issues. I was using my phone rather than my great laptop which has a strange line going through the middle of its display.

I Need To Sleeeeeeeep! I'm gonna give it a shot.

Srilankans hate Australians

Everyone knows that Srilankans have an undying hatred towards Australians when it comes to cricket. It all started when Sri Lanka toured Australia in 1995. It was the first time Srilankans were put under pressure and were abused. You might remember the sledding (i remember how ausi bowlers sledged kalu, and kalu gave one of the most innocent smiles that u had ever seen) and the Daryl Hire incident. All these incidents solidified the Srilankans to reach the final of the Benson and Hedges series, if I'm not mistaken we made the discovery of our explosive opening pair and it was the platform in which Sri Lanka won the world cup. In my point of view we should thank the Aussies for being so generous! ;)

Gone are the days of Daryl Hair, and his hair. (literally speaking ;)) but what I fail to understand the current hatred towards the Aussies. When you ask some Srilankans about why they hate em, the responses are
* "machan u remember the 1995 tour?" yes obviously I remember it. But come on!! Why do you wont to keep acting like a revengeful woman. Aka "agei wairaya ;)"
* others don't even remember why they even hate them. They just say "I just hate them" You don't remember why you hate Australia but you remember the movie "agei wairaya" how cool is that? :P
* some others say "they sledge machan" news flash : every team sledges. For god sakes even the Zimbabweins sledge. For a matter of fact, we even sledge and give the stare. Don't tell me that you haven't seen Dilhara trying to Stare Down batsmen. Scary stuff. Writing about it sends shivers down my spins. Brrrrrrrrrr :P

Srilankans are known for there hospitality. As the hosts of the T20 world cup, show that we are better than any of them. Thats my point of view. But it's up to u!

Growing a year older

As many people around the world know, The Guy Wearing Shorts is officially 26 years old today. If you didn't know that, you should go get a life. :P

Mass celebrations have been organized around the world in honor of the birthday of mine. Paris Hilton has organized an around the world celebration with Parties in Tokyo, Bangkok, Ibiza, New York and LA. Ozzy Ozbourne has promised to eat another Bat's head and Mike Tyson is going to byte the ear of a random dude.

I am so moved by these special people who have gone to great lengths to celebrate my birthday.
But I have always been a modest person. Well grounded. I wondered what have I done with my life. I wanted to be an Animal Activist, a guitar Player and so on and so forth. But I couldn't do any of this.
Something that I am really passionate about is Being an Animal Activist!

Being 26 is not that pretty. Its the sorta age that you don't know whether you are young or becoming old. Is it a matter that you have to torture yourself with? I don't think so. Then why am I making such drama about it? I don't know.

As long as you are 26, you can make fun of 27 year olds. keep making fun of them until they feel like punching you on the face. When they are about to punch you on the face, please don't forget to run for your life.

Dogs or Beggars?

I went to ODEL yday. No, I didn’t go there to check out the chicks. If I went to the Ward Place one, it would have been to observe the environment, but unfortunately I went to the MC one. Yeah! that small one, which makes you claustrophobic. I bought a “Strays are Cool” wrist band from there. It made me think.

Yes I tend to think about useless stuff. What can I do? Doctors told that I could not be helped. :D

Who deserves affections? Beggars or Dogs? I don’t know about you, but I think dogs deserve more affection.

You give a biscuit to a stray dog. It would eat the biscuit and wag his tail, and sometimes the dog would even lick you to show their gratitude. Eeya neda.. licking and stuff. :P I  don’t mind them licking as long as they don’t have Rabies. Buhahahahah…

You on the other hand trying to give a lunch packet to a beggar in good faith. They would ask you all sort of questions such as“Athule monawada thiyenne?” “Vegetable da?” “Mata issellath hambawune vegetable, wena mukuth nadda?” These questions make you feel murderous. ( over exaggerating a tad bit ;) )

So you should way the options. Are dogs more human than actual humans? Hmmm… may be they are. Dogs are loyal and faithful. Think about it. You better think about it. Otherwise don’t read my next post. I have enough and more people. I don’t need a disbeliever. :P

Have an awesome day.
